On June 3, 2018, the Leo Baeck Education Center hosted a delegation of six educators from Taiwan as part of their study tour in Israel to learn about programs and trends in promotion of excellence and creativity in teaching. The delegation, led by Dr. Hsiou-ping Chen, Director of the Tainan City Bureau of Education, chose to visit Leo Baeck as an exemplary institution with advanced teaching programs. Dr. Dafna Haran, Coordinator of Leo Baeck’s gifted students program and National Advisor in the Gifted Students Division in the Israel Ministry of Education, gave a presentation about Leo Baeck’s gifted students program and methods. The participants discussed programs and were given a tours of the Leo Baeck schools by Dr. Luli Stern, Elementary School Principal, and Mr. Eran Bresler, Junior High School Principal. Several Leo Baeck educators participated in educational conferences in Tainan City during the past two years and in March 2018 a delegation of Leo Baeck high school students was hosted in Tainan City. The Tainan delegation’s visit was a welcome addition to the mutually beneficial relations between educators and students of both countries.
